It has been over ten years since the Needle Safety and Prevention Act 2000 was passed by Congress, yet our nation continues to use dangerous needles, especially in phlebotomy, while safer tools are available around the world. It is your responsibility to help ensure the safety of healthcare workers and the public. Please press for including the latest needle safety technologies, such as vein entry indication, and make them mandatory for phlebotomy work in hospitals, medical and nursing schools, doctor's offices and the military, where they are used over 450 million times a year.
